league level T20 tournaments in the whole of North America is here and about to unfurl a brand new season.
As on June 18, 2026, the Major League Cricket or MLC as it’s called, is about to begin its fourth ever season or edition as we know it. Combining world class cricketing talent where the electrifying youth meets the experience of the field, the MLC is without much of a doubt the most interesting and gripping among all franchise based leagues in America. And it’s only growing further in its overall popularity and hold over the audiences.
To say that the Major League Cricket is only followed by T20 or cricket fans in the US, would be to cut it short; fans from world over including India, Australia and even England and the Caribbean watch closely the energetic and highly exciting cricketing action that seems as if it’s here to stay and is surely going to pack a punch as more seasons unfold.
Most notably, this time around, the Knight Riders Cricket field in the state of California has just been introduced as the elite cricket league’s brand new venue. That’s the third, as on date in MLC.
Having said that, let’s delve into more structural and organisational details about the Major League Cricket-
The said franchise based T20 league is organised by the respected American Cricket Enterprises, also known as the ACE and it is sanctioned by the USA Cricket. The famous T20 based former league was founded in the year 2023. However, it wasn’t before it received recognition from the powerful parent body of cricket globally-ICC.
What would be rather interesting is to note that back in 2023, the season was actually played for over three weeks stretching to almost a month but was held across just two venues.
Then last year there arrived a bit of change with the series finding no fewer than 3 venues.
The most successful teams as on date happen to be the powerful MI New York who happen to be two-time champions (2023 and 2025) and then Washington Freedom winning the title in 2024.
