With the Indian cricketing calendar coming to a halt after their 2-2 drawn series against England in the UK, the Men in Blue are preparing for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, which will be played from September
9 to 28 in the UAE. Amidst this time, several former cricketers went out loud, sharing their experiences from both - on and off the cricket field.
Among them is former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan. While Pathan was last seen playing in the second edition of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) in England, he hogged limelight for his comments off the field. Amidst this, an old of his is resurfacing on the internet where Pathan made some startling comments about for India captain MS Dhoni.

In an interview with renowned journalist Vikrant Gupta on SportsTak, Pathan revealed some candid conversations which he had with Dhoni. While the interview was taken in 2020, it has once again gone viral with Pathan revealing some inside story, while taking an indirect dig at Dhoni. However, Pathan refrained from naming Dhoni as he remarked, "I don't have a habit of setting up hookah in someone's room or talking about this. Everyone knows. Sometimes if you don't speak about it, it's better.”
While his comments blew minds of fans and enthusiasts alike, the former India all-rounder further added, “A cricketer's job is to perform on the field and that is what I used to focus on.”

While not much is known of the relevance of his comments, but it came after MS Dhoni was blamed for Irfan Pathan’s exile from the Indian team despite performing well in the national colours. In what was his final ODI in 2012, Pathan picked up a five-wicket haul.
