Digvesh sledges, gets smashed for two sixes in DPL

During the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 game between South Delhi Superstarz and West Delhi Lions at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digvesh Rathi got involved in a heated

exchange with opener Ankit Kumar. The game between both sides ended in West Delhi’s favour as the side clinched an eight-wicket win, riding on Kumar’s excellent 96 off just 46 balls. His knock was studded with 17 boundaries (11 fours and six maximums). Chasing the target of 186, West Delhi got a superb start as both Kumar and Krish Yadav gave a brilliant start to their side.

In the fifth over of the innings, Digvesh Rathibacktracked before delivering the ball. After this, Ankit also did the same when the spinner was about to bowl. Tempers flared after this and Rathi was seen giving a mouthful to the opener. In the 12th over, when Rathi came against Kumar again, the latter took the former to the cleaners and hammered him for two maximums in a row. In the match, Digvesh struggled to be among the wickets as he splurged 33 runs in his three-over spell, failing to do any damage to his opponent side. On the other hand, Ankit became the Player of the Match (POTM) for his batting brilliance.

South Delhi lost two games in a row and they are now in the sixth position on the points chart. Their next contest is against the table-toppers Central Delhi on August 7. Before West Delhi, Superstarz lost to East Delhi Riders in the maiden game of the season.
