With the triumph, Shubman Gill and his men succeeded in avoiding a series defeat as the visitors shared the trophy for ending the tournament in a stalemate with 2-2 figures. Discussing Krishna’s overall performance in the series, he took 14 wickets in six innings of three matches.
Recently, the India speedster spoke to ESPNcricinfo and disclosed how the series affected him physically and mentally. "Physically, it took a lot out of me. It took me about a week to shake it off. Then I came back, played a few games in the Maharaja Trophy. It felt good to go back to my state, be with my statemates, chat with the youngsters, and just get that feeling of being back in cricket again," remarked Krishna.
Prasidh Krishna feels Mohammed Siraj delivered a crucial breakthrough to India in the fifth Test
Prasidh Krishna feels Mohammed Siraj picked up the vital scalp of Jamie Smith on the final day of the fifth Test and snatched momentum from the hosts. "The wicket of Jamie Smith changed everything. From there, it was about us being consistent in the right areas, and then it was just a matter of time before the wickets fell," added Krishna.
Following Jamie’s wicket, Siraj got the better of Jamie Overton and Gus Atkinson and helped India bag a six-run triumph. Siraj became the recipient of the Player of the Match (POTM) award for his stunning bowling display (4/86 and 5/104) while Krishna emerged as the unsung hero in the contest.
