Fans who had been waiting to see Hardik Pandya back in action will reportedly have to wait for some more time. As per latest reports, Pandya has been ruled out of the upcoming India A fixtures against
Australia A in Puducherry due to recurring pain. Notably, the star all-rounder was omitted from India’s squad for the West Indies series because as per head coach Gautam Gambhir, Pandya is not in a position to bowl 10 overs a day at the moment. However, he was included in the India A squad for the one-day series against the Aussie side, giving fans hope of his return to the senior side earlier than anticipated.
The ODI series is set to begin on October 6, and will be played across three days till October 11. While Pandya was included in the squad, he was yet to receive a final fitness clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence. However, per latest reports from Sahil Malhotra of TOI, Pandya will miss the series due to recurring pain.
As per Malhotra, Pandya experienced fresh pain in his right shin earlier this week, and went for scans. The BCCI medical team is monitoring him and has been advised further rest.

Hardik Pandya Misses Comeback Again Ahead of Expected Return
Pandya, who has been out of action for a considerable amount of time now has once again missed out his comeback. The shin issue has derailed all the progress that the cricketer had made at the Bengaluru facility. This was the same issue that kept him out of selection for Afghanistan T20Is, reports suggest that the 32-year-old was considered for a late entry at the Asian Games, but a series of unfortunate turn of events led to him missing out of the continental events.
He is advised to take rest for next 15-20 days, which makes him doubtful of his return for the T20Is against New Zealand next month. The selectors wouldn’t want to field him directly for the ODIs either which follow the T20Is. Pandya has been a crucial part of the team, but the injury issues might also hamper their approach regarding him for the 2027 World Cup, if things don’t get better in time.
