Former India cricketer Suresh Raina, who was last seen in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, representing the India Champions, has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The middle-order
batter, who put curtains to his international cricket career in 2020, hours after MSDhoni’s retirement, will appear before the ED on Wednesday, August 13 for questioning in a case promoting an online betting app.
It is to be noted that Raina, who played 18 Tests, 221 ODIs and 78 T20Is for India during his playing days, has been the brand ambassador of the betting app. With the cricketer promoting the app despite being illegal in the country, he will be put into interrogations at the ED’s headquarters in Delhi.

Furthermore, it is to be known that Raina isn’t the only one who will be undergoing the questioning. Apart from him, many other cricketers and Bollywood celebrities have been under investigation. As per the part of the judicial matters, once Raina deposes, the federal probe is expected to record his statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Earlier on Monday, August 11, renowned South actor Rana Daggubati appeared before the ED in Hyderabad after he seeked postponement from the July 23 hearing due to his other commitments. Prior to that, in May, Telangana Police had booked around 25 well-known actors in alleged links to online betting promotions.
