Former India skipper Rohit Sharma took a hilarious dig at Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar for his ‘Non-Committal’ remarks during his new TV Show. Notably, Sharma, who has bid adieu to his T20I and Test careers,
is currently enjoying his time off the field. The T20I World Cup 2024 winning captain is set to make his entertainment debut, where he will be seen hosting a family comedy show, Family Full House, scheduled to begin streaming from September 19, 2026 on SonyLIV.
In one of the latest promos of the show, Sharma was seen wearing a t-shirt with the phrase ‘Non Committal’, garnering attention from cricket fans quickly. Cricket and Rohit Sharma Ultras were quick to relate the phrase with Ajit Agarjar’s statement last year, which drew him widespread criticism. Notably, in October 2025, Agarkar addressed a press conference at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai, where he announced India’s squad for the three-game ODI series against Australia.
During the presser, he had publicly said that both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were ‘non-committal’ about their participation in the 2027 ODI World Cup. During the same address, he confirmed Shubman Gill as the new ODI captain, replacing Rohit Sharma. Notably, the captaincy decision was taken by Agarkar alongside Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir and BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.

Ashish Nehra Opens Up on Rohit Sharma-Virat Kohli’s Presence in Squad During World Cup 2027
Ever since the Indian cricket stalwarts, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, called time on their T20I and Test careers, questions on their participation in ODI World Cup 2027 have persisted. While many have believed that both should be replaced by youngsters in the squad, others have opined that their experience is going to help the team. Sharma will be 40 by the time of the World Cup next year while Kohli will turn 39 during the tournament. Amidst all the uncertainty and doubts, former India pacer Ashish Nehra has expressed his opinion.

Nehra said that predicting the presence of the ‘Ro-Ko’ duo in the marquee tournament more than a year in advance is premature. The Gujarat Titans head coach said that circumstances change quickly in international cricket. Nehra was speaking at the Cricket Association of Bengal’s annual awards ceremony in Kolkata. During the ceremony, he said, “We all know what Rohit and Virat have achieved over the last decade. But for me, 13 months is a long time. It is very difficult to say right now whether Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli will be there. Forget those two. Age is just a number.”
While things remain uncertain for now, it is to be seen how they pan out for Sharma and Kohli, who fell short in the final game of ODI World Cup 2023 after a prolific campaign throughout the tournament.
