With several reports coming regarding trade deals ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, another report emerged that the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings are likely to trade their star young batter Rachin

Ravindra. As per the several reports on social media, CSK are set to set Ravindra for Delhi Capitals for their wicketkeeper batter Donovan Ferreira.

Although there is no confirmation from both the franchises, the official announcement is yet to be made soon. CSK bought Ravindra ahead of IPL 2024 after his heroics in the 2023 ODI World Cup. The five-time champions bought the young New Zealand batter for INR 1.80 Crore in the auction. He had a great season where he amassed 222 runs from 10 matches at a strike rate of 160.86. However, he couldn’t continue the same form in IPL 2025 amassing 191 runs from eight matches.

Notably, CSK didn’t have a good outing as a batting unit which was the main reason that they finished last on the points table. One of the major concerns for CSK in IPL 2025 was the lack of performance from the top order. Now, they might be keen to add Donovan Ferreira in their squad for the next edition of the IPL in 2026.

Donovan Ferreira can be a useful addition in CSK’s squad providing a strength to their middle-order. Ferreira was a part of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025 but got to play only a single match throughout the season. This also supports the fact that DC are likely top trade him for Rachin Ravindra ahead of IPL 2026 auction. The official announcement is yet to be made soon by both the franchises.
