With the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 reaching its penultimate stage with the South Africa women’s team securing a spot in the final, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Women in Blue decimated the reigning
champions Australia Women on Thursday, October 30 in Navi Mumbai to seal a berth in the final and setup a clash with the Protean side. While the game had its moments, Jemimah Rodrigues shone with her unbeaten knock and guided India in the run chase.
While the top-order batter scored an unbeaten 127 in 339-run chase, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur also scored 88-ball 89. With the sensational performance in the crucial game, the India Women stunned the most successful team and outclassed them, bringing an end to their campaign. While the Alyssa Healy-led would be disappointed by the result despite some crucial performances, the tournament also brought an end to several of the players ODI World Cup campaign.

Speaking at the post-match presentation after defeat against hosts India Women, Aussie skipper Alyssa healy said, "I think everyone contributed beautifully throughout this tournament. That's why it's really disappointing to be standing here right now . We created enough. We created pressure. We created opportunities. We just weren't able to capitalise on them."
When asked about her return for the next ODI World Cup cycle, Healy didn't hesitate and said, "I won't be there." The 35-year-old smiled and added, "That's the beauty of the next cycle, we're going to see it unfold. There's a T20 World Cup in the middle of next year, which is really exciting for our group. But I think our one-day cricket will probably shift a little bit again."
This comes as a blow for the Aussie side with Healy representing them across 123 matches and amassing 3563 runs at an average of 35.98. In what was her final ODI World Cup, she ended up scoring 299 runs in five matches at an average of 74.75.
