Auqib Nabi made his international debut on Wednesday in the second ODI against West Indies. The star pacer was handed his maiden India cap by wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul ahead of the clash at the Assam
Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati. The 29-year-old, known for his brilliant line and length ability to move the ball both ways, Nabi rose to headlines with his impressive campaigns in the Ranji Trophy.
In 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons, Nabi picked a total of 104 wickets. Particularly in the second season, Nabi finished as the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 60 wickets in 17 innings at 12.65, playing a key role in guiding the team to their maiden tournament title.

Auqib Nabi was named in India squad earlier, didn’t debut

Coming back to the game, all eyes will be on the debutante as the home side aims series win. In the opening fixture, team India recorded an emphatic eight-wicket win following a brilliant batting display by Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill. Both the batters recorded their individual hundreds, with Kohli crossing the 15,000 ODI-run mark. Apart from that, the second game also marks the 100th ODI for wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul.
