India are set to begin their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a match against UAE at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 10. Although the Men in Blue are looking favourites to win the title this
year, the fans will miss the services of senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Recently, star wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant also indicated that he is also missing Kohli and Rohit in the ongoing Asia Cup.
Notably, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohliannounced their retirements from the T20I format after India’s T20 World Cup win in 2024. Apart from that, this is also the first multi-national T20 tournament after their departure from the shortest format. This is also the first time that Rohit and Kohli won’t be a part of India’s Asia Cup squad together since 2010. This also makes the fans emotional as the two players have played a key role in major tournaments for India in the last few years.
Rishabh Pant also misses Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in Asia Cup 2025 squad
As India are set to start their campaign in Asia Cup 2025 with less than 24 hours, the fans are showing their support for Men in Blue for the tournament but are also missing Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Similarly, a user named @bhageerathikol shared a reel on Instagram with an edit featuring the two legendary players. The reel featuring Indian players from the practice session read, “The Asia Cup is coming, are you excited?
After that, a transition came featuring Kohli and Rohit which read “Excited” followed by a ‘broken heart’ emoji. The post got a like from none other than Rishabh Pant who is currently out of action. Pant is currently on a recovery phase after suffering a painful toe injury during the Test series against England.
