Skipper Liam Livingtsone turned out to be a star in Birmingham Phoenix’s four-wicket win over Oval Invincibles in match number 10 of The Hundred 2025 at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Tuesday, August 12. The right-hander
shone with an unbeaten on 69*(27) runs as Phoenix won by four wickets chasing a target of 181 runs in 98 balls. During his knock, Livingstone also got involved in a nasty sledge with Invincibles’ all-rounder Tom Curran.
During Birmingham Phoenix’s innings, Tom Curran was seen exchanging a few word with Lima Livingstone. However, it didn’t end well for him as he got smashed for two sixes and a four by Livingstone when Phoenix needed 22 runs off 10 balls. After the match, Livingstone revealed what Curran said to him and also said that he didn’t expect his good friend to say this to him.

In his interview with BBC Two after the match, Liam Livingstone recalled his sledging with Tom Curran during match number 10 of the Hundred 2025 at Edgbaston. The Birmingham Phoenix captain revealed that Tom Curran called him a "fat slob", after he he warned him to not to come to bowl in death.
"I have no idea why Tom started to spray me. He is one of my good friends and he called me a fat slob or something so I thought ‘let’s hope you don’t go for a few if you come back at the death’ and he did so I’m kind of happy with that," Livingstone said.
