There have been several speculations regarding the future of Chennai Super Kings legend MS Dhoni after the end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Now, the reports are coming that the former India captain
can be seen in another season of IPL in 2026. As reported by Revsportz, Dhoni’s return has been influenced after N Srinivasan returned as the Chairman of CSK recently.
Notably, formerBCCIPresident has returned to be the Chairman of CSK for IPL 2026 providing a huge boost for CSK management and its fans. After that, the reports are also coming that Srinivasan played a crucial role in convincing Dhoni to play for one more season after his return in the management. Srinivasan will return after more than 10 years after getting removed as CSK Chairman in 2015 following match-fixing scandal.
What did MS Dhoni say about his IPL retirement?
Till now, there hasn’t been any confirmation whether MS Dhoni will play in IPL 2026 or not. However, the latest reports might give a sigh of relief to his and CSK fans before the official confirmation comes. However, during IPL 2025 season, Dhoni himself said that he didn’t make any decision now and need a time till December 2025 looking at his body and fitness.
"I don't know whether I'll play or not. I have time to decide. I have some time until December, so I'll take another couple of months, and then finally, I can make my decision," Dhoni said.
It will be a delight for the CSK fans if Dhoni returns in IPL 2026 with N. Srinivasan returning as Chairman for the upcoming season. The five-times will also look for a strong comeback after a forgettable season in IPL 2025.
