Nitish Rana plays captain’s knock as West Delhi Lions win DPL 2025 title
Talking about the match, captain Nitish Rana led from the front with his match-winning knock of 79*(49) runs as West Delhi Lions defeated Central Delhi Kings by four wickets in the title clash of DPL 2025. Batting first, Central Delhi Kings posted 173 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. Yugal Saini top scored with 65(48) runs, hitting four fours and three sixes while Pranshu Vijayran remained unbeaten on 50*(24), smashing three fours and four sixes. For West Delhi, Mana Bhardwaj and Shivank Vashisht took two wickets each while Nitish Rana, Shubham Dubey and Mayank Gusain scalped a wicket each.
Chasing the winning target, West Delhi Lions got to a poor start as they were reduced to 15/2 after two overs. After that, skipper Nitish Rana took charge of the innings and went on to play a captain's knock of 79* runs off 49 balls, hitting four fours and seven sixes. Rana also put up a partnership of 85 runs for the fifth wicket Hrithik Shokeen (42* off 27) as West Delhi Lions chased the winning target in 18 overs at the loss of four wickets.
