Indian opener Abhishek Singh came up with a unique celebration to mark his third T20I century. The young batter unleashed a batting carnage as India locked horns with Afghanistan in dead rubber on Thursday,
September 17. On being asked to bat first, the Men in Blue went all guns blazing against their Afghan counterparts. The opening duo of Sharma and Sanju Samson not only hit the highest powerplay score, but the former also went on to record an individual record. He broke Finn Allen’s previous record to register the fastest T20I hundred from a Test-playing nation.
As he reached the milestone off just 30 deliveries in the ninth over, the Indian opener hit a ‘yoga and meditation’ pose. Considering his regular and trademark ‘L pose’, this was something new and unique. Needless to say, fans liked it, and it went viral on social media within no time. Apart from his fastest T20I hundred among Test playing nations, Sharma now also owns the third fastest hundred overall, after Sahil Chauhan’s 27-ball ton, and Turkey batter Muhammad Fahad’s 29-ball hundred.

Abhishek Sharma Puts Up 108 Runs off 34 Deliveries
Sharma gave India a solid start to the game and put up a brilliant 108-run knock in just 34 deliveries. During his knock, he came up with nine boundaries and 11 sixes to help the side cross 140-run mark by the end of 10 overs. While he was aiming to continue his slaughter of Afghanistan bowlers, his knock eventually came to an end off a Rashid Khan’s delivery on the fifth ball of the tenth over. Khan delivered a googly outside off, and Sharma tried to loft it over extra cover.

However, he got a massive outside edge and was caught behind the wickets. The Indian batter took a review but the replay showed a clear spike, forcing the Man in Blue to walk back after a historical knock. As of writing, Sanju Samson was batting at 44* off 31 deliveries while skipper Shreyas Iyer was at 1* off 2 deliveries as the scorecard read 155-2.
