The Indian team has made headlines for all the wrong reasons off late, especially after their defeat against South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India lost the game against the Proteas
by 76 runs, putting themselves in a spot of bother. India's current net runrate is -3.850, which is exactly 183 runs behind West Indies - who top the group currently. Former India cricketer and current commentator Aakash Chopra made a big remark on the Indian team and also questioned India's preparations ahead of the tournament.
Aakash Chopra, who is known for his analysis said that did Indian team came underprepared for the ICC tournament. He believes that India's weakness was quite openly seen against South Africa - when the men-in-blue just couldn't control the game.

On his YouTube channel, he said, "Did the Indian team come into this tournament slightly underprepared? Why did I say India weren't prepared? You are thinking that we came prepared, we didn't lose even one series, and lost four or five T20Is in total in such a long time. I am saying you weren't prepared because the kind of cricket you were thinking you would play continuously or would be able to play, that doesn't happen in the World Cup at all."

He ended up explaining as well why he feels that the Indian team came underprepared. Seeing the statistics of past 10 editions, only 15 times Test playing nations have scored 200 plus runs. Which means, having dreams of scoring 250-275 runs was anyway out of picture.
"This is the 10th edition of the World Cup, and if we see the matches between top Test teams, a 200-plus total has been scored only 15 times. 200 runs have never been scored in a semi-final or final to date. So we were doing a different preparation. We were saying we would score 250-275, but that kind of cricket doesn't happen in the World Cup," he concluded.
