In the fourth T20I of the five-match series at the Carrara Oval, Nathan Ellis, the Australian fast bowler, bowled a sensational spell, conceding just 21 runs for his three wickets in the four over quota
to help restrict India to 167/8 in their allotted 20 overs. India were nicely placed in the second half of their batting effort during a partnership between Shubman Gill and Shivam Dube before Nathan Ellis got into the act for Australia.
The Australian pacer cleaned up Dube with a short of a good length delivery on leg stump, to end the left-hander’s innings for 22 off 18 with one four and one gigantic six out of the stadium at a time when he was starting to settle in at the crease. Just a few overs later, Ellis demolished the stumps of Gill, who was finding it hard to consistently find boundaries in his innings of 46 off 39 with four fours and a six.

The fall of these two set batters put some brakes on the Indian innings before Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Jitesh Sharma lost their wickets to other bowlers within the space of 10 balls in their attempt to accelerate the innings. Nathan Ellis came back into the attack to bowl at the death where he picked up the key wicket of Washington Sundar for 12 off 7 with two fours, also becoming the fifth Australian bowler to take 50 or more wickets in T20Is.
Apart from him, leg spinner Adam Zampa also picked up three wickets in the Indian innings but he was quite expensive, conceding 45 runs in his four over quota.
