Team India have officially begun their preparations for the 2026 Asian Games with the squad taking part in a net practice session under the guidance of head coach VVS Laxman. The Board of Control for Cricket
in India shared glimpses of the training session on the Internet giving fans a look at the team’s early preparations ahead of the tournament.
The practice session appeared to be an optional one, with only a few players taking part in the nets. Among those spotted during the session were Sanju Samson and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who were seen putting in the hard yards as they began adapting to the conditions ahead of India’s campaign.

VVS Laxman motivated Team India players
Laxman has been appointed as the head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team for the Asian Games. The former India batter brings considerable experience to the role and will be responsible for guiding a squad that features a blend of experienced international stars and promising young players.
Sanju Samson will look to continue his form, with the wicketkeeper-batter bringing considerable experience in T20 cricket. Meanwhile, young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will be among the players attracting significant attention. However, it looks like he will have to wait for his turn.
