It would be a delight to see the veteran player get a stand in the same stadium where he has set multiple world records in a single match against Baroda during the 1984-85 Ranjit Trophy season. He became the first Indian and second cricketer globally (after Garry Sobers) to hit six consecutive sixes in an over, targeting left-arm spinner Tilak Raj. He scored an unbeaten 200 off 123 balls in just 113 minutes. At the time, this was the fastest-double century in first class cricket history breaking an 81 year old record.
Two gates to be renamed at Wankhede
On the same day, the MCA decided to rename three gates of the Wankhede Stadium, Gate No.3, Gate No.5 and Gate No.6 dedicated to Dilip Sardesai, Diana Edulji and Eknath Solkar respectively.

Sardesai represented Mumbai in 13 Ranji Trophy seasons and played in 10 finals—remarkably, Mumbai never lost a final with him in the side.He scored a pivotal 199 against Rajasthan in the final, securing another title for Mumbai.
Edulji captained Bombay (Mumbai) to multiple titles including the inaugural , Dr. Savitri Solomon Trophy, where she and Laya Francis famously routed Bengal.
In the very first Test match played at Wankhede (India vs. West Indies, January 1975), Solkar scored a courageous 102. This was his only Test century and made him the first Indian centurion at the ground.Known for his "suicide position" at forward short-leg without a helmet, he was a key figure at Wankhede for both Mumbai and India.
