With the Asia Cup 2025 being the next major cricketing tournament, the Salman Agha-led Pakistan have announced their squad for the upcoming event. The Men in Green, who will tour the United Arab Emirates
(UAE) for tri-series, involving Afghanistan and the UAE. The series will be played between August 29 to September 7 as preparation for the T20 tournament.
While the side will be led by Salman Agha, the Men in Green will step out under the coaching of Mike Hesson. Furthermore, in a shocking turn of events, senior players including Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam have been snubbed from the side after they missed the last series in the T20I format.

As the Men in Green are coming after 202-run drubbing against West Indies in the ODI series, the team will aim to regroup as they eye to clinch the continental tournament. While Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been overlooked once again, senior players including Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi, along with star batters in Fakhar Zaman and Khushdil Shah have earned their respective places.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have also reinstated faith in star wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris, whereas names like Hasan Nawaz, Salman Mirza and Sufiyan Muqeem have also found a place in the 17-member squad.
Speaking of the tournament, Pakistan have been placed in Group A alongside India, UAE and Oman. The Salman Agha-led side will kickstart their campaign against Oman on September 12, followed by much-anticipated match against India scheduled to be played on September 14.
