The much-awaited domestic cricket season is all set to kickstart with the highly-anticipated Duleep Trophy. The first of the domestic cricket season in India, Duleep Trophy 2025 will return in its usual
zonal format after being played in the group format and will be played from August 28 to September 15 at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence.
This year’s Duleep Trophy 2025 will see several Indian cricketers light up the tournament with India’s red-ball captain Shubman Gill, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and others appearing for their respective zonal teams. Shubman Gill will be seen captaining the North Zone side, Tilak Varma will spearhead the South Zone. Ruturaj Gaikwad will be seen playing under Shardul Thakur’s captaincy in West Zone, whereas Ishan Kishan will be leading the East Zone.
Arjun Tendulkar miss out from North Zone’s squad for Duleep Trophy 2025
Amidst this, former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s son - Arjun Tendulkar has been snubbed from the North East zone squad for the upcoming tournament. Arjun Tendulkar, who plays for Goa in domestic cricket, was expected to make in the squad, but was completely ignored. Arjun scalped 16 wickets in four matches in plate group of Ranji Trophy.
The youngster, who recently got hitched to Saaniya Chandok, the grand daughter of prominent Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai, has been with Goa since 2022-23. He made a memorable debut for Goa, scoring a century. He has 37 wickets and 532 runs in his first-class cricket.
