Royal Challengers Bengaluru have retained Australia star all-rounder Ellyse Perry ahead of the 2027 season of the Women’s Premier League. Perry will continue to be part of the RCB setup as the franchise
prepares to defend its title in the upcoming campaign.
Perry’s retention comes as a significant boost for RCB, particularly with the Australian having confirmed her availability for the fifth edition of the WPL. She missed RCB’s title-winning 2026 campaign due to personal reasons, but will now return to the squad for the 2027 season.

The experienced all-rounder has been one of the most prominent names associated with RCB since the franchise retained her ahead of the 2026 mega auction. She was initially retained alongside Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh and Shreyanka Patil, forming the core around which RCB rebuilt its squad.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru retain 13 players ahead of WPL 2027
RCB have retained 13 players ahead of the 2027 season, with Perry among four overseas players kept by the defending champions. Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh, Shreyanka Patil, Georgia Voll, Nadine de Klerk, Radha Yadav and Lauren Bell are among the other key names retained by the franchise.
Perry’s availability gives RCB an experienced option who can contribute in both departments. Her ability to influence games with the bat and ball has made her one of the most established all-rounders in the women’s game.
The WPL 2027 season is scheduled to take place from January 14 to February 7, with the player auction set to be held in Kochi on October 28. RCB enter the season as defending champions after defeating Delhi Capitals by six wickets in the 2026 final.
With Perry now set to return, RCB will have another opportunity to see the Australian star in their colours when the new WPL season gets underway.
