Virat Kohli has once again reminded the cricketing world why his dedication to the game remains second to none. The Indian batting superstar has barely given himself time to settle after arriving in New
Zealand, already getting down to business as he prepares for the upcoming five-match ODI series against the Black Caps.
Kohli arrived in Auckland in the early hours of Friday, October 30, and wasted little time before heading to the practice session. Having reportedly landed at around 5 AM, the former India captain was ready to train by 10 AM. While most players would prefer to recover from a long international journey and the change in time zones, Kohli chose to spend his time with the bat in hand.
What made the moment even more special was his response when a journalist asked whether he did not need rest after such a tiring journey. Kohli reportedly replied that practising was his meditation and that he would like to do it as many times as possible.
The statement perfectly captures the mindset of a cricketer who has built an extraordinary career through discipline, consistency and an unrelenting desire to improve.

Interestingly, Kohli’s commitment has not stopped there. The 37-year-old was once again spotted practising in Auckland, with fresh footage of his training session going viral on social media. The video, shared by cricket followers, showed the batting icon arriving at the ground in his India training outfit, drawing admiration from fans who continue to celebrate his passion for the sport.
The upcoming assignment will be an important one for India as they take on New Zealand in a five-match ODI series beginning November 4 at Eden Park in Auckland. With the 2027 ODI World Cup approaching, the series will provide valuable preparation for the Indian team.
Kohli will also be looking to carry forward his impressive form from the recent ODI series against the West Indies, where he scored 168 runs across three matches, including a magnificent unbeaten 139 in the opening game.
For Kohli, the message is simple: the hunger to get better never fades. And even after years at the highest level, his passion for practice continues to speak louder than words.
