After the Indian cricket team enforced a follow-on on West Indies on Day 3 of the ongoing second Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, a brilliant attempt from skipper Shubman Gill, gave India an early
breakthrough. With John Campbell and Tagenarine Chanderpaul once again taking the guards in the middle as West Indies trailed by 270 runs, a brilliant effort from Gill handed Windies their first jolt.
With Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja opening the bowling for India this time in second West Indies innings, Mohammed Siraj gave the first breakthrough, courtesy a brilliant catch from Gill. Coming out to bowl his fifth over of the second West Indies innings, he bowled a short, outside off, Chanderpaul mistimed it while going for a pull shot. With it, the ball lobbed towards mid-on with Gill getting his eyes set on the bat.

Gill, who was stationed at mid-wicket, ran to complete a short distance and pulled of a sensational diving catch at mid-on, bringing in some respite in the Indian camp. With this, India got their first breakthrough in Chanderpaul, who departed having scored 10 off 30 deliveries. Couple of deliveries later, Washington Sundar cleaned up Alick Athanaze as West Indies were 35/2 at Tea on Day 3.
However, the games to lean towards India, who continue to look dominant across departments, it has to be seen how long will it last with less than 30 overs left at the time of writing for the end of day’s play.
