Royal Challengers Bengaluru(RCB) finally shared their first post on social media almost three months after the tragic stampede incident in Bengaluru. Notably, RCB ended up winning their maiden Indian Premier
League (IPL) title in the 18th edition of the tournament this year. They defeated Punjab Kings by six runs in the final of IPL 2025 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Bengaluru on June 3. However, just the next day after their maiden title win, things took a drastic turn.
After winning the IPL 2025 title, RCB announced a victory parade in Bengaluru on June 4 to celebrate the win with their fans. However, what was supposed to be a victory celebration, turned into a horrifying scene as a huge crowd gathered in a small area near the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Around 11 people lost their lives while more than 50 people got injured in the tragic stampede. After the incident, RCB faced a huge backlash by the fans for organizing the event in a hurry without proper security arrangement. The next day after the incident on June 5, RCB shared a post on social media where they announced INR 10 Lakh compensation for the families of victims. After that, there was no post from RCB on social media for almost three months.
RCB announce new initiative for the safety of the fans
After the end of IPL 2025, all the other nine franchises kept posting on social media time-to-time. However, RCB, who ended up becoming champions for the first time this year, stopped posting anything after Bengaluru. Now, 84 days after the tragic incident, RCB finally shared a post on their social handles where they announced new initiative called ‘RCB cares.”
“𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.The Silence wasn’t Absence. It was Grief,” RCB wrote on social media.
“In that silence, we’ve been grieving. Listening. Learning. And slowly, we’ve begun to build something more than just a response. Something we truly believe in,”
“That’s how 𝗥𝗖𝗕 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦 came to life. It grew out of a need to honour, to heal, and to stand beside our fans. A platform for meaningful action shaped by our community & fans,” the IPL 2025 champions further stated.
Further, RCB also mentioned that they will provide other details about their latest campaign RCB Cares soon.
