Central Zone skipper Rajat Patidar showed a great display of fielding in the final of the Duleep Trophy 2025 against South Zone at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. During the second session of day
one of the match, spinner Saransh Jain bowled a delivery against Salman Nizar. The South Zone simply tried to defend a ball but it found the edge of his bat.
After that, Rajat Patidar, who was standing at gully made a brilliant dive and ended up taking a stunning catch to end Salman Nizar’s innings. Patidar ran from the gully and took a dive to complete a catch. Nizar got out after scoring 24 runs off 52 balls hitting two fours and one six.
South Zone bowled out for 149 runs in Duleep Trophy 2025 final, Saransh Jain takes a fifer
Talking about the match, batting first, South Zone were bowled out for 149 runs in the first innings of the final of the Duleep Trophy 2025. For Central Zone, Saransh Jain turned out to be a star performer as he registered figures of 5/49 with the ball. Coming to bat first after losing the toss, South Zone lost their first wicket at the score of 27 runs in 15.6 overs as Mohit Kale got out after scoring just nine runs off 50 balls. After that, South Zone kept losing wickets at regular intervals with Tanmay Singh top scoring with 31 runs off 76 balls hitting three boundaries.
Salman Nizar also contributed with 24(52) runs while Ankit Sharma scored 20(64) runs. Apart from that, none of the other batters could stay at the crease for long. For Central Zone, Saransh Jain took five wickets by conceding 49 runs, while Kumar Kartikeya also registered figures of 4/53.
