Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mohsin Khan committed a massive blunder during the IPL 2026 clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR), handing a golden lifeline to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi mid-chase. The critical
lapse in concentration occurred in the 14th over of RR's chase. Dhruv Jurel dabbed a slower delivery from Mohsin toward backward point, triggering a massive mix-up. The young opener, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, was left completely stranded halfway down the pitch. Digvesh Singh picked up the ball quickly and executed a precise throw to Mohsin Khan, who was moving toward the stumps. Instead of comfortably walking up and dislodging the bails with the ball in hand, Mohsin inexplicably chose to under-arm a flip at the stumps from point-blank range.
He missed the target entirely, allowing the batsmen to recover and even sneak a single. However, Mohsin Khan redeemed himself in the 14th over by dismissing the teen prodigy, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as he was looking forward to score his second IPL 2026 century. Khan dismissed Sooryavanshi by outsmarting him and forcing him to hit the ball towards long-on to Abdul Samad. The youngster mistimed the ball and it landed straight into the hands of Samad. Sooryavanshi's wicket brought relief in the LSG dugout as they were able to break the partnership between Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel who is currently looking forward to win the game for Rajasthan Royals.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi enters elite list, comes closer to Chris Gayle in scoring most sixes in single IPL season
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has held many records to his name this season, and his latest record being the second batsman to hit most sixes in an IPL season by hitting 53 boundaries till now. He is now second to Chris Gayle who hit 59 centuries during the 2012 IPL season. During his blistering knock of 93 off 38 balls against Lucknow Super Giants, the 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals opener hammered 10 massive sixes. This extraordinary display moved him past Andre Russell in the list. Earlier in the week, Sooryavanshi had already secured his place in the history books against Delhi Capitals by eclipsing Abhishek Sharmaโs 2024 tally (42 sixes) to become the highest six-hitting Indian in a single tournament edition. By hitting the 50-six milestone in the game against LSG, he became the first Indian in IPL history to cross 50 maximums in one season.
