IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal has spoken on theAsia Cup 2025match, set to be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 14. After the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor, both teams will
play against each other for the first time. The Men in Blue will look to beat Pakistan and qualify for the Super 4 round comfortably. However, prior to the match, a huge section of people in India are raising their voices against their team’s participation in the Sunday contest. BCCI is facing criticism for allowing the side to play against the T20 World Cup 2009 champions amidst political tensions between both South Asian nations.
Amidst these developments, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal has extended his best wishes to Team Indiafor the upcoming game. He also repeated the government’s stand which states that India can boycott Pakistan in bilaterals but in the ICC and ACC tournaments, India have to show up. "I wish the Indian team all the best for the Asia Cup. The government has clarified its position that when it comes to bilateral, we are not going to play against Pakistan. But when you have such an ACC trophy or ICC trophy, we will have to participate in that. So, we'll go by what the government advises us to do," said Dhumal, as quoted by ANI.
