Zimbabwe continued their winning form as they beat Sri Lanka by six wickets to end up as the group toppers with three wins in four matches. This is a serious achievement by the Zimbabwe side and many of
them are left shocked and stunned as to how dominating they have been in this WT20. Zimbabwe were placed in Group B along with Sri Lanka, Australia, Ireland and Oman. Before the start of the WT20 not many gave Zimbabwe a chance in that group.

Zimbabwe started the tournament with a dominating win against Oman and that was an expected result. But after that they went on to beat Australia by 23 runs. That win almost knocked out Australia and their match against Ireland was abandoned due to rain. After that result they qualified for the Super 8 stage and Australia were knocked out. Today they went toe to toe with the co-hosts Sri Lanka and claimed yet another victory to top the group.

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza stole the show for Zimbabwe as he played a terrific cameo of 45 from just 26 balls which included two fours and four sixes while opener Brian Bennett continued his fine form as he notched up another half century. Bennett had also scored a fifty against Australia a few games back and once again has shown his class. Twitter was full of praise for these two players as Zimbabwe cruised to a win.

Zimbabwe are placed in a tough group for the Super 8 stage with India, South Africa and West Indies set to be their opponents in the Super 8 stage. With performances like these they have shown that they will be competitive and teams can no longer take them lightly.
