The LSG vs DC match has been the most interesting low score match of the tournament till now. LSG was asked to bat first as DC won the toss and elected to bowl. LSG had a poor first innings as the skipper
got out making just 7 runs in 9 balls and the team lost quick wickets in the form of Marsh, Markram and Pooran. Shahbaz was then brought to the squad as an impact Sub replacing Marsh to stabilise the innings. The team finally managed to make the score of 141 in 18.1 overs before getting all out.
The second innings of the match was more thrilling as KL Rahul got out on the first ball of the innings, bowled by the veteran Indian team player Mohammad Shami while trying to hit a six. DC then lost quick wickets in the form of the Sri Lankan batter Pathum Nissanka and Nitish Rana. Axar Patel then came out to bat after Nitish Rana’s wicket but things got even more interesting when Axar Patel got bowled out by Prince Yadav and the head coach of DC, Hemang Badani stopped Miller and sent Stubbs instead.
Sameer Rizvi brought in as Impact Sub.
The team also brought in Sameer Rizvi as the Impact Sub replacing T. Natrajan. The team did not have a good start but Stubbs has shown up for the team in every crucial innings, maybe the trust Badani had in Stubbs made him send the South-African player ahead of the finisher Miller. Miller is playing for the Capitals for the first time this season after being released by LSG before the auction 2025.
The Capitals are now looking in trouble until they have a partnership between Rizvi and Stubbs; the match might be LSG’s first win this season. LSG faced DC in their inaugural match for last season as well, they managed to win the game through the heroic innings of Ashutosh Sharma who is missing today. Let's hope Stubbs and Rizvi bring the Capitals out of this troublesome moment and win the match for them.
