India opener Sanju Samson took his admiration for Rajinikanth to the next level by booking an entire theatre to watch the Tamil actor’s latest release, Jailer 2, with family and friends. The wicketkeeper
batter has always been a subject of debate in the cricketing fraternity over his place in the national team. While the cricketer has time and again proven his mettle by playing some of the most crucial knocks, consistently has never favoured the batter.
However, apart from everything else, the 31-year-old has managed to make headlines for his admiration towards superstar Rajinikanth. Samson, being a massive fan of ‘Thalaiva’, extended his fandom by booking an entire cinema hall to enjoy Jailer 2. Samson planned to watch the movie with his family, friends and Indian teammates, which prompted him to rent out the entire screen.

In a video now doing rounds on social media, the wicketkeeper batter could be heard talking about his love for Rajinikanth’s movies. He said, “I love watching Rajini sir’s movies, and I always look forward to his next film. So, I’m actually a day late. I try to watch as many of his movies as possible. Yesterday, we had an event in Delhi, which is why I couldn’t watch it.”
“But today, fortunately, I was lucky enough to book the entire theatre. I’ve invited my friends, and my wife is here too. I’m very excited to watch Rajini sir on the big screen,” he added.
Samson went on to reveal that members of the Indian team who could understand Tamil also joined him for the screening. “Everyone in the team and the support staff who knows Tamil is coming,” he added.
On the game’s front, Samson was a part of India’s T20I squad which locked horns with West Indies. The five-game series ended in a draw, and Samson came up with 11 runs, 82 runs, three, 56, and 16 runs, respectively, in the five games.
