In match eight of the KCL 2025, which was played between the Kochi Blue Tigers and the Aries Kollan Sailors, the Indian batter hit a blazing 42-ball ton, striking at 237.25. During his 51-ball 121, he hit 21 boundaries - 14 fours and seven sixes to help his side chase the 237-run target in stipulated 20 overs. The 30-year-old was also adjudged the Player of the Match for his thunderous knock.

Samson, during his 51-ball stay in the middle, stitched a 89-run stand for the second wicket with Muhammed Shanu. While Samson’s knock came at a crucial time with him finding a place in Team India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming Men’s Asia Cup 2025. The Kerala cricketer’s knock came with speculation going around his shift in the middle order in the Indian T20I side in order to accommodate Shubman Gill and others.
Speaking of the 30-year-old, Samson will next appear in Indian colours in the Men’s Asia Cup, set to be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28. Despite a prolific run in the T20I colours after being promoted to the opening slot under Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy, Samson has slammed three centuries from 12 innings. He has amassed 417 runs at an average of 37.90. But with Shubman Gill’s return in the side as vice-captain, his place seems in jeopardy.
