In the second match of the Asia Cup 2025 played at the Dubai International Stadium, Team India bagged a comfortable nine-wicket win against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and started their campaign in style.
Kuldeep Yadav emerged as the star of the contest as he displayed his confidence and wrecked the UAE’s batting unit. As the toss favoured India skipper Suryakumar Yadav and he elected to field first, his bowlers came heavily on Emirates. Jasprit Bumrah delivered the first breakthrough to India but it was Kuldeep, who stepped up and did major damage to the UAE.
Bowling his second over, he hunted the scalps of Rahul Chopra, skipper Muhammad Waseem, and Harshit Kaushik. When he came to bowl his third over, he also dismissed Haider Ali to fold UAE at a score of 57 in 13.1 overs. Kuldeep ended his 2.1-over spell with 4-7 figures. India clinched an easy nine-wicket win andKuldeep Yadav became the Player of the Match (POTM) for his stupendous bowling show.
Expectations high from India for the upcoming match against Pakistan
Following the amazing performance against the UAE, Indiawill be expected to trump Pakistan batters on September 14. The arch-rivals will play a T20I game against each other after 15 months and India will expect their in-form bowlers to give nightmares to the T20 World Cup 2009 champion side.
In the shortest form of the sport, both teams have played 13 games against each other, with India emerging victorious on 10 occasions while in three instances, Pakistan triumphed. In Dubai, both teams have locked horns against each other three times, with Pakistan standing tall twice.
In the T20 World Cup 2021, when India and Pakistan played each other at this venue, the Men in Green thumped the former by 10 wickets. However, a lot has changed in the last four years and Suryakumar and his men will look to be at their best in the high-octane clash.
