With ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 progressing further with the battle for the top four getting intense with each passing day, the Indian women’s cricket team find themselves in a difficult position,
having registered back-to-back losses. Having started their campaign with a comprehensive 59-run win over co-hosts Sri Lanka Women in the tournament opener in Guwahati, they went on to beat Pakistan Women by 88 runs in Colombo.
However, their tournament took a different turn thereafter as they were handed back-to-back defeats. While they lost to South Africa Women by three wickets, followed by a three-wicket drubbing against defending champions Australia Women. Hoping for a revival in the tournament, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side were spotted at Ujjain’s Mahakal temple.

Days prior to their next game, where they will face England Women on Sunday, October 19 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, the women’s team visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. The players were seen attending the early morning bhasma aarti and spent time offering prayers in the Nandi Hall, videos of which have been making rounds on social media.
The Indian women’s team are currently placed fourth in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 with two wins in four games with four points in their kitty. With three games left for them, they would hope to get a win in all three which will see them finish with 10 points and secure top four spot.
