Team India pacer Jasprit Bumrah was seen exuding confidence when he got West Indies opener John Campbell trapped in front of stumps in the second innings of the ongoing Delhi Test. The ball struck Campbell’s
pad and Bumrah appealed for LBW and the umpire didn’t give his nod. The hosts took the Decision Review System (DRS) against the Windies batter and the line displayed that the ball would have hit the stumps, but the third umpire didn’t get convinced which made the home side bound to the decision made by the on-field umpire. Campbell stayed at the crease and went on to score his maiden red-ball ton.
The umpire’s decision got Bumrah’s reaction as the pacer, while walking back to the bowling end, told the umpire, "You know it's out, but the technology can't prove it.” Bumrah’s remark was caught on the stump mic and his reaction is reigning on social media sites.
India tasked to chase 121 to win the series
India have been tasked to chase down the total of 121 to win the series. In the second innings, West Indies tailender Jayden Seales displayed fighting spirit and supported Justin Greaves. Both built a 79-run stand for the last wicket and the partnership helped the visitors post a total of 390.
Chasing a low total, India have lost Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was looking to attack the bowlers. However, the southpaw strove to play a huge shot against Jomel Warrican and got caught in the deep. The youngster walked back to the dugout after scoring eight off seven. As of writing, India are 15/1, with veteran KL Rahul (6* off 10) and Sai Sudharsan (1* off 8). Following this game, India will play their next Test in Kolkata on November 14. The Protea side will play a couple of Tests during their upcoming tour.
