England all-rounder Will Jacks produced one of the most extraordinary pieces of fielding seen in The Hundred this season at Lord’s. During the London derby between MI London and London Spirit, the all-rounder pulled
a stunner as he turned a certain boundary into a dismissal, leaving the packed crowd in disbelief, while social media flooded with the same clip within minutes. The ball was struck cleanly by Lhuan-dre Pretorius, who was batting on 52. Standing right at the boundary rope, Will Jacks tracked the trajectory of the ball perfectly. Sprinting to his right, he leaped full-length into the air, outstretched his right hand, and plucked the ball out of thin air just inches before it crossed the boundary line.
To make the piece of fielding even more remarkable, Jacks maintained incredible core strength to ensure his feet did not touch the boundary rope upon landing, successfully completing a clean catch. MI London Knock Out London Spirit to Climb to Second in The Hundred 2026 Table
On a belter of a surface at Lords, London Spirit finished on 160 for 5 after a stop-start first innings. Pretorius’s half-century helped London dominate at the start but once Jacks removed him the middle order struggled to get going. Some useful late contributions from David Willey and James Coles helped them reach a competitive total, yet it never quite felt like enough against a strong MI London side on a good batting surface.
They started well with Pooran and Sam Curran keeping the required rate under control for large parts of the game, but it was Sikandar Raza who provided the change in momentum. Coming in as a late replacement for Rashid Khan, the Zimbabwe captain smashed three sixes in a rapid 32 off 16 balls and took the game away from Spirit. MI London got home with four wickets and six balls to spare, moving up to second in the table. This loss means London Spirit have been eliminated from the competition. Despite all the fireworks and the eventual win, the highlight of the match was the stunning catch pulled by Will Jacks.
