India clinched the gold medal at the Asian Games after defeating Pakistan by 19 runs in a thrilling T20 final. Batting first, India posted a formidable 211/6 in 20 overs, before restricting Pakistan to
192/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
India’s innings was powered by an explosive batting display, with Abhishek Sharma leading the charge. The left-hander smashed 61 runs off just 28 balls, hitting three fours and seven sixes at a staggering strike rate of 217.86.
Tilak Varma provided another major contribution, remaining unbeaten on 51 off 22 balls. His innings included three fours and four sixes, while Shivam Dube added a quickfire 27 off 15 balls. Ishan Kishan also chipped in with 20 off 18 deliveries, while captain Shreyas Iyer scored 21.

Pakistan fell short by 19 runs
Pakistan faced a daunting 212-run target but kept themselves in the contest through Hasan Nawaz, who produced a sensational knock of 96 off only 51 balls. His innings featured five fours and seven sixes. Saim Ayub also contributed 29 off 22 balls, but Pakistan ultimately fell short.

India’s bowlers maintained their composure during the crucial stages of the chase. Axar Patel and Washington Sundar picked up two wickets each, while Shivam Dube also claimed two wickets. Jasprit Bumrah completed his four-over spell for 33 runs without a wicket.
India eventually restricted Pakistan to 192/6, securing a memorable 19-run victory and the gold medal.
