Veteran Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma is celebrating his 37th birthday on September 2, 2025. The right-arm pacer has been a crucial player for India especially in the Test format. The 6 feet 4 inches
tall fast bowler hails from Delhi and made his India debut in a Test match against Bangladesh in Mirpur on May 25, 2007.
Ishant Sharma has played 105 Tests, 80 ODIs and 14 T20Is for India so far, taking 434 wickets across all three formats. He is in the elite list of Indian players to play more than 100 Test matches. He was also the part of the Indian squad that won the Champions Trophy in 2013. Apart from that, Ishant has played for seven franchises in the Indian Premier League including the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rising Pune Supergiants, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.
Ishant Sharma Career
Ishant Sharma started his international career in a Test match against Bangladesh in Mirpur on May 25, 2007. He ended up taking just one wicket in that game. Later in the same year, Ishant went on to make his ODI debut against South Africa in Belfast June 29. In 2008, Ishant Sharma became an all-format player for India after he played his first T20I match against Australia in Melbourne on February 1.

Ishant Sharma won the Champions Trophy with the Indian Team in 2013 and played a crucial role in the triumph. He was among the leading wicket takers of the tournament scalping 10 wickets from five matches, including crucial two wickets in the final.
