In a surprising move, the UP Warriorz traded US Pacer Tara Norris to Mumbai Indians ahead of the WPL 2027 season. Norris has joined the two-time WPL Champions for INR 10 lakh. It is to be noted that with
the signing, Norris has become the first player in the history of the league to be signed via a trade deal.
Earlier, Norris didn’t get a chance to play in a single game for the UP Warriorz in the previous season. However, in the 2023 season she played five games for the Delhi Capitals, and has seven wickets to her name in the global T20 tournament. Along with it, the 28-year-old has picked 44 wickets in 55 games overall.
The Indians announced her signing with an official statement that read, “Mumbai Indians have completed their first-ever trade in the Women’s Premier League, bringing USA international and left-arm pacer Tara Norris into the team.
“Having previously been part of MI London, Norris now joins Mumbai Indians’ WPL squad, bringing her experience across the global T20 game to the team. Norris adds depth and versatility to Mumbai Indians’ bowling attack as the team builds towards the upcoming WPL 2027 season.”
