all-rounder decided to leave five-time champions CSK after having a conversation with Dhoni, which could have influenced his decision of parting ways with the franchise.
Recently, there are rumours coming that CSK are planning to trade Jadeja to Rajasthan Royals to get Sanju Samson in their squad ahead of IPL 2026. After that, Jadeja also deactivated his Instagram due to which the fans speculated that the things aren’t right between him and CSK. Now, Dhoni is reportedly seeming to play a key role in Jadeja’ departure from CSK.

As reported by Cric Addictor, MS Dhoni had a conversation with Ravindra Jadeja where he convinced the all-rounder to explore other teams for the next edition of the IPL in 2026. THe wicket-keeper batter informed Jadeja that this could be his last IPL season and the franchise will be looking for fresh faces to be a part of the franchise after that. Reportedly, Dhoni also said that he is unlikely to play all the matches in IPL 2026 which makes Jadeja the most senior player in the franchise in his absence.
Earlier, Ravichandran Ashwin also announced his retirement from the IPL and now Jadeja’s departure, there will be no senior spin bowler in CSK for IPL 2026. However the five-time champions are likely to retain Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmed ahead of the upcoming auction. Ahmed had a great outing with CSK in IPL 2025 where he finished as the second highest wicket taker of the season with 24 scalps in 14 matches.
