India’s white-ball tour of Australia has come down to the final game, where the Mitchell Marsh-led side is hosting the T20 World Champions in the fifth and final T20I at The Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday,
November 8. Coming into the final game, the Men in Blue will look to seal the series and continue their winning streak under Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy, the Aussie men however will look to end it in a draw with a win tonight.
As the two skippers took the field, once again Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and elected to bowl first. “Going to bowl first. Looks a good surface, always great to come here and play at this great stadium. Certainly a chance to draw the series,” he said at the toss while confirming an unchanged team.
Tilak Varma rested in 5th T20I; Rinku Singh gets a game
The Indian skipper however had a hard luck at the toss, he backed his team to come out good and seal a win. “Until you're winning the game and losing the toss, it's fine. Want to go out and express ourselves. Always good to understand what the team's goal is. All batters realised it wasn't a 200 wicket. All boxes ticked in the last game, just want to continue the same. Always good to win bilaterals,” Surya said.
When asked about the combination, Suryaumar Yadav confirmed one change which saw Rinku Singh walk in for Tilak Varma, who is celebrating his birthday today. At the toss, SKY said that Tilak is “just resting”, clearing air around his fitness.
