Kylian Mbappe scored a spectacular goal in the El Clasico match to open things for Real Madrid and it was a pure moment of brilliance. In the 41st minute at Spotify Camp Nou, Real Madrid worked the ball
from right to left. Marc Cucurella released Yan Diomande down the flank, and the young Frenchman whipped in a low cross. Barcelona defender Gerard Martin tried to clear it, but the ball smashed straight into Kylian Mbappe and it bounced off the striker’s thigh and flew into the net past Joan García. Mbappe barely knew much about it as he was just in the right place at the right time, and suddenly Madrid were 1-0 up in the biggest game of the season so far.

That deflection set the tone as Barcelona had been the better side in spells, controlling more of the ball and creating the odd chance, but Madrid looked organised and dangerous on the break under Jose Mourinho. Lamine Yamal wasted a clear opportunity just before half-time, firing wide when clean through, and the home crowd was already restless. Real Madrid went into the break with the lead due to the Mbappe goal.

Real Madrid beat Barcelona with 87th-minute goal
The second half of the match was a different story for a while as Barcelona came out firing and equalised in the 61st minute. Pedri slipped a clever reverse pass into the box, and Raphinha finished it from a tight angle to level the score 1-1. Gerard Martin even had a close-range header that Andriy Lunin somehow clawed away with a brilliant one-handed save. But Real Madrid never panicked and they stayed compact, soaked up the pressure, and waited for their moment. It arrived in the 87th minute.
Jude Bellingham produced a bit of magic in midfield, Arda Guler found Eduardo Camavinga with a sharp pass, and the substitute drove past Pau Cubarsi before cutting the ball back perfectly. Mbappe was waiting and simply could not miss, slotting into an empty net to make it 2-1. That second goal was pure quality and it was also Mbappe’s 100th goal for Real Madrid. The final whistle confirmed a massive three points for the visitors. Barcelona’s perfect start to the La Liga season was over. Their six-point lead was cut to three.
