Born and raised in Pakistan but someone who would later on move to the USA, Ali Khan, would settle in the American state of Ohio aged 18, before making his inroads into the game his heart beats for. And
that, undoubtedly, is cricket. As on date, Ali Khan, whose full name is Muhammad Ahsan Ali Khan has played no fewer than 15 ODI’s and 21 T20Is for the American national cricket team.
But having said that, the right arm medium fast bowler has just done something that is making news for perhaps the most bizarre reason that one would note, ever.
So the big question is, what is that and what did the talented and passionate fast bowler do and that too, in the Canada Super Sixty, that’s caught the attention of the fans in this day and age of social media overdrive?
Here’s what you ought to know:
Bowling in the first semi final contest to Kieron Pollard of all batters, who was part of the Toronto Sixers and playing for the Missisauga Masters, Ali Khan bowled a delivery so wide that it actually went beyond the keeper’s head and landed for a six.
🚨 MAYBE FIRST TIME IN CRICKET HISTORY 🚨
Ali Khan bowls a bouncer, and the ball goes for a SIX 😳
That’s a Wide + Six, possibly the first time this has happened in cricket history 😂

Noted international cricketing umpire Richard Kettlebourogh fans’ page on X, the noted microblogging platform, was quick to post a video of the same footage that’s perhaps as weird as it is entertaining.
And maybe it’s the first time ever in T20 cricket history that a bowler has come to deliver a wide delivery that was wide enough to extract the kind of bounce that it did for it to land over the ropes and the winning side earned free runs off it.
The Toronto Sixers won the contest by 9 runs in the end even as they made just 130 and the Masters side, despite having the powerful hitters of the class of Munro, Munsey and Raza, managed just 121 in the end.
But what a sight might that have been? Ali Khan, who in the end, didn’t even get to bat as his Mississauga team lost 7 wickets and played all full 20 overs, might not have been the player posting the biggest smile at the end of the day.
