Star Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who recently featured in the five-match Test series against England for the newly minted Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, is currently plying his trade for the team
- Bhimavaram Bulls in the ongoing fourth edition of the Andhra Premier League (APL). Notably, the T20 tournament is currently being played at the ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, with the final set to be played on August 23.
Although after being named the captain of the side in APL 2025, Nitish Kumar Reddy is yet to feature in the ongoing league. However, his participation in the tournment remains under cloud as he is rehabiliating from a left knee injury, which he sustained during the England tour, ruling him out of the last two Test matches of the series.

While he races against time to get fit to be part of the league at some stage, Nitish Kumar Reddy spoke to the media on the sidelines of the tournament. On being asked to share his opinions on the captains he has played under so far, the Indian all-rounder began, “I can’t say one quality because everyone has a unique style of captaincy. Yeah, you can name like.. some captains are aggressive, some captains are cool, like in their ways, they are best. So you need to find your way, what you can do, like you are a cool captain, you are an aggressive captain or whatever it is. For the best of the team, you have to learn what they can possess.”
“So I am happy that I am learning bit-bit points from every captain and I am getting the opportunity to, you know.. play under good captains like.. as you mentioned the names. So I am so happy for that,” he continued.
Speaking of the 22-year-old right-hand batter, Nitish Reddy made his India Test debut in the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia Down Under. In the nine innings, he could amass 293 runs along with picking five wickets. His recent appearance in the Indian colours came against England, where he played only two Tests.
