In theKerala Cricket League (KCL) 2025 game played between Calicut Globstars and Adani Trivandrum Royals, the former’s middle-order batter Salman Nizar hit the headlines for his majestic batting performance.
Batting at number six, Nizar took Trivandrum’s bowling attack to the cleaners and smashed an unbeaten 86 off just 26. During his innings, Nizar looked ruthless and struck 11 sixes off 12 balls. His innings was studded with 12 maximums. Riding on his sensational batting display, Globstars clinched a 13-run win and Nizar also got the Player of the Match (POTM) for his superb batting show.
Following Nizar’s batting performance, cricket fans are eager to know about the Kerala cricketer. Salman, who is currently 28, broke into domestic cricket in 2015, with his maiden First-Class appearance for Kerala against Assam in Kannur in February 2015. After 19 days of his First-Class debut, he also played his first List A game against Tripura. However, he waited for almost three years to serve Kerala in T20 cricket. In January 2018, he made his T20 debut against Hyderabad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2017/18.
Salman Nizar’s batting record for Kerala
Salman Nizar has played 85 matches for Kerala in domestic cricket. In First-Class cricket, he has scored 1471 runs with two hundreds and seven fifties in 46 innings of 32 contests. As a List A batter, the southpaw has accumulated 589 runs with three half-centuries in 26 matches. In T20 cricket, he has hoarded 450 runs in 22 innings of 27 games, at a strike rate of 146.57.
Before serving Kerala in domestic cricket, Nizar served his state team in the Under-14, Under-16, and Under-23 levels. Nizar collected 30 runs against Basil Thampi after smashing the pacer for five maximums in the 19th over of the first innings. Both Nizar and Thampi have played a lot of cricket together for Kerala in the domestic circuit.
