In their second Group A match of the Asia Cup 2025, India are currently on fire with the ball against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. In the 13th over of the contest, India’s wrist
spinner Kuldeep Yadav took back-to-back wickets of Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Nawaz, to help reduce Pakistan to 64/6 before missing out on a hat-trick as Faheem Ashraf managed to take a single.
The wicket of Hasan Nawaz came on a length delivery from Kuldeep Yadav at the pads, the fourth ball of the 13th over, which the Pakistan right-handed batter tried to go over square leg, only to top edge it before Axar Patel ran from first slip to leg gully area to catch it very easily. On the next ball, a googly, pitched on good length from the Indian wrist spinner had left-handed batter Mohammad Nawaz play down the wrong line before getting adjudicated lbw by the on-field umpire.

It led to the Pakistan batter deciding to take the DRS, but the technology proved the on-field umpire correct with three reds on the graphic, signalling the end of the left-hander’s innings. The hat-trick ball from Kuldeep Yadav was a repeat of the previous delivery, but Faheem Nawaz got the inside edge to square leg on it, to ensure that the Indian spinner didn’t edge his name in the history books with another record in T20I cricket.
As of this writing, India have reduced Pakistan to 90/7 in 17 overs with Kuldeep Yadav’s registering figures of 3/18 in his four overs, while Axar Patel took 2/18 in his four-over spell.
