Harry Kane played a pivotal role in Bayern Munich's 4-0 victory over Tottenham in a pre-season friendly. The match, held on Thursday, saw Kane score the
opening goal in the 12th minute. Despite missing a penalty later in the first half, Bayern secured three more goals after the break, marking Thomas Frank's first loss as Spurs manager.
The England captain capitalised on Michael Olise's precise pass to score early, slotting the ball into the bottom-left corner. Shortly after, Joao Palhinha, making his debut for Spurs on loan from Vincent Kompany’s team, fouled Josip Stanisic, resulting in a penalty for Bayern. Kane took the spot-kick but surprisingly missed by sending it over the bar.
Bayern extended their lead just past the hour mark with Kingsley Coman's impressive curling shot. Lennart Karl then made it 3-0 in the 74th minute. Jonah Kusi-Asare wrapped up the scoring with a fine strike from inside the box, ensuring Bayern maintained their unbeaten pre-season run.

Kane's performance was noteworthy as he led Bayern with six shots and created three chances, matching Coman's tally. This display will give Tottenham manager Frank much to consider. Tottenham's expected goals (xG) were only 0.36 from six attempts compared to Bayern’s substantial xG of 3.6 from 26 shots.
Kane has continued his impressive form since joining Bayern, having scored 280 goals in 435 matches for Spurs previously. His contributions against his former club highlighted his ongoing impact in his second Bundesliga season.
Tottenham faces a challenging schedule ahead with Paris Saint-Germain next in line for them in the UEFA Super Cup. This fixture will test Frank’s strategies further as they aim to improve their performance against top-tier teams.
