In a landmark achievement for Indian cricket, veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has become the first fast bowler to scalp 200 wickets in the Indian Premier
League (IPL).
The veteran Indian bowler reached the milestone in RCB colours as they play CSK in the IPL 2026 on Sunday (April 5) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The 36-year-old swing king, currently playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), etched his name in history with this milestone, joining Yuzvendra Chahal as only the second bowler overall to reach the landmark.
Known for his mastery of the ball in the powerplay and death overs, Bhuvi has evolved remarkably over 191 IPL matches. Starting as a specialist swing bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he won back-to-back Purple Caps in 2016 and 2017, he has adapted to different conditions and roles. His economy and precision have consistently troubled batters, even as T20 cricket grew more aggressive.

CSK in Trouble after RCB Onslaught
Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a formidable 250/3 in 20 overs against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026 Match 11 at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Opting to bat first on a flat pitch, RCB built steadily with Virat Kohli (28 off 18) and Phil Salt (46 off 30) adding 37 for the first wicket.
Devdutt Padikkal then played a fluent 50 off 29 to take them to 151/3 by the 14th over. The innings exploded in the death phase as skipper Rajat Patidar (48* off 19, 1x4, 6x6) and Tim David (70* off 25, 3x4, 8x6) unleashed a 99-run unbeaten stand off just 35 balls, smashing boundaries at will.
In reply, CSK are in trouble as they are 47/3 in the 5th over. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson and Ayush Mhatre have already gone to the pavilion as they chase the massive score.
