Manchester United Stage Fergie Time Comeback Against Roma
Manchester United staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Roma 3-2 at Old Trafford in the Champions League on Tuesday, providing manager Michael Carrick with a crucial victory amid mounting pressure. Roma stunned the hosts by scoring twice within the opening 17 minutes. Matias Soule broke the deadlock in the 11th minute before Donyell Malen converted a penalty to extend the visitors' lead. United fought back after the interval, with Bruno Fernandes scoring from a retaken penalty. Matheus Cunha then sealed the turnaround with goals in the 83rd and 86th minutes, before receiving a red card.
PSG Thrash Villarreal 6-0
Paris Saint-Germain delivered a dominant display to crush Villarreal 6-0, strengthening their position among the favourites to lift another Champions League trophy. Luis Enrique's team continued their pursuit of a third successive European title despite the absence of injured attackers Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
PSG took complete control at El Madrigal, scoring four times in the opening 17 minutes through Joao Neves, Desire Doue, Senny Mayulu and Fabian Ruiz. UEFA confirmed that no side had previously reached four goals so quickly in a Champions League fixture. Ruiz scored again after the break, while 17-year-old David Boly netted shortly after making his debut as a substitute. PSG also became the competition's first team to collect 12 points.
Bayern Win Against Athletico
Bayern Munich claimed an important 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid on their home turf, despite star striker and newly crowned Ballon d'Or winner Harry Kane failing to find the net. The visitors took the lead in the 54th minute after Lennart Karl punished a defensive error.
Konrad Laimer extended Bayern's advantage in the 74th minute, finishing clinically into the roof of the net following an accurate pass from Kane. The victory lifted the German champions to eight points after four matches in the Champions League league phase.
Barcelona Win Convincingly At Camp Nou
FC Barcelona changed things in their favour at the Camp Nou to hand Aston Villa their first defeat of the Champions League campaign. Earlier, Lamine Yamal gave the hosts an early advantage with a seventh-minute strike before Raphinha took control of things after the break, scoring twice to pull off a remarkable victory.
The win also helped Barcelona climb places in the ladder to reach to the second place, ahead of the third-placed Villa.
