Mitchell Marsh, representing Lucknow Super Giants, set the tone early with an assertive display at the top of the order, taking on the experienced Bhuvneshwar
Kumar in the powerplay.
From the outset, Marsh looked intent on dictating terms. Using his trademark long levers, he generated effortless power, driving on the up and pulling anything short with authority. Bhuvneshwar, known for his precision and swing, tried to keep things tight with his probing lines just outside off, but Marsh's positive footwork and clean bat swing allowed him to pierce the field and find the boundaries.
The contest quickly turned into a battle of intent versus control. Whenever Bhuvneshwar pitched it up in search of movement, Marsh leaned into his drives, while anything marginally short was dispatched with disdain. The early aggression not only disrupted the bowler's rhythm but also ensured that LSG got off to a flying start, putting immediate pressure on the opposition.

RCB vs LSG: Sea-Saw Momentum
The phase between overs 7 and 14 proved to be a decisive passage, producing 67 runs and three crucial wickets as momentum swung back and forth.
The breakthrough came early when Josh Hazlewood struck a key blow, dismissing Nicholas Pooran and halting the batting side's early charge. With pressure building, Ayush Badoni responded positively, getting off the mark with a confident boundary to steady the innings.
The counterattack soon arrived through Mitchell Marsh, who took on Krunal Pandya in his first over, smashing a four and a six in a 15-run burst. Marsh looked in control and even survived a close lbw appeal on 37, keeping hopes alive of a big total.
However, Krunal had the final say. The left-arm spinner returned to clean up Marsh, breaking the backbone of the innings just as acceleration seemed imminent. He struck again soon after, removing Abdul Samad cheaply to peg things further back.
Despite the setbacks, Badoni kept the scoreboard ticking with a couple of crisp boundaries off Suyash Sharma, ensuring the innings didn't stall completely. Mukul then provided a late spark in the phase, breaking a string of dot balls with a towering six.
By the end of the 14th over, it was a tightly contested passage, steady scoring punctuated by timely wickets, leaving the game finely balanced heading into the death overs.
